Members of Arctic Landscape Ecology Lab combine detailed field investigations of vegetation and microenvironment with broad-scale change detection and spatial pattern analysis. By combining field investigations and regional mapping his research program seeks to link knowledge of key processes with data on landscape-level variation in critical drivers. Current research projects in the western Arctic focus on permafrost degradation, storm surges, shrub encroachment, catastrophic lake drainage, and anthropogenic disturbance. If you are interested in joining the lab as a graduate student or postdoctoral researcher, contact Dr. Trevor Lantz.
